Helping raise awareness for Williams Syndrome

bije rideCamino Healthcare is supporting David Limb and our friends at Cynergi who are raising awareness and support for The Williams Syndrome Foundation. They begin the gargantuan challenge of the Coast to Coast cycle ride from Lowestoft to St David’s Head on Friday 8th September 2017 and will cover 400 miles in just 4 days.

Williams Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder that occurs randomly and affects around one in 18,000 people in the UK. Infants often have delayed development and can develop physical and mental health problems, including anxiety and depression in later life.  Clinical diagnosis can prove to be difficult as the effects can vary and whilst there is a spectrum of ability and potential, adults with Williams Syndrome are not able to live without support.

David’s son George was born in 2000, but it took 16 years for Williams Syndrome to be diagnosed due to the lack of knowledge and awareness of the condition. After experiencing first hand the the help and support that The Williams Syndrome Foundation provide as well as the investment into research, David and his family want to give something back.

David is looking for company sponsors of £500 or more in order to assist with not only the operating costs of this challenge but also to pass onto The Williams Syndrome Foundation. In return, your organisation will get it’s logo printed on specially commissioned cycling jerseys worn for the duration of the cycle and included in regular tweets and JustGiving page updates, you will also be an integral part helping people and their families deal with this debilitating condition.
