An Oak House resident is leading a team of Health Care Support Staff on a carefully planned diamond hunt in a secret location of the South Wales region.
The search is on for the precious stones which were purportedly buried in the Welsh hills decades ago for safe keeping. The Oak House resident wants to use the buried jewels to help others who are experiencing mental illness with their personal journey of recovery.
Team members assisting with the search described the excitement that both planning the expeditions and getting outside for some exercise has bought to both residents and staff at the Unit.
Health Care Support Worker Lakvire Singh who helped organise the trip had this to say:
“It was great to see the amount of planning and passion that went into organising the outing. It was hard work climbing up and down the hills but it was definitely worth it to see the happiness it bought.
“I also thought the way that our Service User wanted to use the diamonds to help others was particularly commendable. The diamonds haven’t been found yet, but the search goes on”
